Sketchbook
Been getting back into this a little bit to pass the time on long calls, while Jonny is taking a long bath, etc. and am very rusty but loving every minute of it. Here are a few random sketches from the past few months as I warm up a bit. It's been, um, almost twenty years since I have kept up with this. There is an odd assortment of pencil, watercolor and Tablet PC (Sketchbook Pro rocks) sketches. Got a way to go yet but the process is totally fun. I broke in the new, hacked watercolor case for the first few sketches which were from our trip to the Wildlife World Zoo. Still a few more to scan shortly...

The zoo drawings are done in a moleskine watercolor sketchbook and the rest in a cheap recycled paper spiral bound.

Camels are impossible for me. No matter how many times I breakdown the shape it never looks right. I think they are more oddly shaped that I am willing to believe and that is why it is so hard for me to push the shape where it needs to go. I need to learn a few brush techniques one of these days...

Not sure what happened to the mane, A few mis-strokes and it was all downhill from there...

Love the colors on this one but just can't get them in the scan - grrr...

Tiger Splash at Out of Africa. Got to work on my tigers!

Jonny's Giraffe and my first Sketchbook Pro attempt.  I had so much fun doing this sketch I decided to get back into it again...

Have I mentioned that I own a Jeep?

This is a little wall hanging in the upstairs bathroom I painted while Jonny was taking a bath.
